Edit 4: the schematics for this project are now available as PNG files on github:
In this video, I deomstrate the Raspberry Pi based guitar effect box/pedal that I built.
All the audio processing is done by Pure Data, a free alternitave to Max MSP. A python script that I wrote takes input from four pots (connected to a MCP3008 (not MCP2003) ADC chip, which is in turn connected to the pi through SPI) that change effect parameters and three pushbuttons that cycle through the effects and allow you to enter ’Edit Mode’.
The display I used was a blue iTron VFD with a serial backpack to allow for easy communication with the pi.
In this video I am playing a 2008 Epiphone Les Paul with the selector switch in the middle position through a Vox Vt30 modeling amp.
Here is a list of the effects (Possibly not in the correct order):
Chorus - Good ol’ chorus
Warble Chorus - Basically a chorus piped into a chorus which modulates a chorus which modulates the incoming guitar signal
