Baby Please... (Stop smoking that weed!) - Dani Wilde

Dani Wilde Baby Please… (Stop Smokin’ That Weed!) January 2024 - VizzTone Label Group British Blues Award winner Dani Wilde burst onto the International blues scene in 2007, opening for Jools Holland as a special guest of Christopher Holland’s band, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. That same year she signed to prestigious blues record label Ruf Records. “She releases a sort of diesel roar from her throat, pierced with little darts of high falsetto. It is like two voices. She sings the old twelve bar blues - whooping and slurring like an old boy from the Delta. The place goes mad, as if it can’t quite believe what it’s heard.” ALAN FRANKS, The Times Magazine Since then, Wilde has toured extensively (playing up to 250 concerts a year) across the UK, Europe, America, Canada and Africa, charting in the blues charts and country charts in Europe. USA concerts have included headline shows under her own name, and performances with girl group “Girls With Guitars” alongside Samantha Fish and Cassie Taylor. The group’s 2012 record, produced by Mike Zito in Berlin, was a hit in Europe; the single ‘Bitch’ reaching the Number 1 spot in the iTunes blues charts in Italy. In 2017, Dani signed with Vizztone Label Group to release a live in the studio album entitled “Live at Brighton Road”. Her single ‘Bumblebee’ reached over 4 million plays on Spotify. Since then her relationship with Vizztone has continued to thrive with further digital releases. 2024 sees Wilde teaming up with top female session musicians Victoria Smith (Bass) and Abby White (Drums) in a kick-ass all-female rock n roll trio. The result, a killer rock ’n’ roll song showcasing Wilde’s rocket fuelled vocals and exciting lead guitar skills. Wilde lists her musical influences for this track as Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Nick Curran and The Low Life’s. “Samantha Fish, Cassie Taylor and I once caught a Nick Curran gig in this grungy club in Berlin on an off night from our tour. This was years ago now and sadly Nick Curran has since passed, but his music left a big impression on me!“ “This track was really about getting in the studio and having fun and letting loose. We had a blast recording it and I hope you will all have fun listening to it. And, FYI, since I wrote this track my man has not smoked any more weed” Wilde laughs, “He is my new-improved man; just perfect now!“ Dani Wilde THE BAND Victoria Smith (Bass) Victoria is a professional freelance musician and tutor based in Brighton, UK.
