Israel’s Strikes On Syria Stopped By Russian Air Defence Systems, Has Putin Changed Stand On Israel?

Russia’s Pantsir-S system shot down guided bombs and cruise missiles launched by Israel towards Syria, its Defence Ministry said. Moscow said its air defence forces on duty shot down 10 guided bombs and three cruise missiles fired by the Israeli Air Force. The Israeli army said it was carrying out strikes in Syria after two rockets fired from Syria fell into territory under Israel’s control. The Syrian Defence Ministry reported that its air defences also shot down several missiles. Israel primarily targets Iran-backed forces including Lebanese Hezbollah fighters as well as Syrian army positions.
