Taiwan earthquake: moment building collapses as residents flee

At least nine people have been killed and more than 700 injured by a powerful earthquake that struck Taiwan on Wednesday morning. Video of the aftermath shows buildings at precarious angles in the eastern city of Hualien, an earthquake-prone area about 96 miles south of Taipei. The quake, the strongest to hit the island in at least 25 years, struck offshore shortly before 8am local time as the morning commute began and children travelled to school.
