New nerve agent antidote autoinjector to better protect British troops

British troops are to be equipped with a new autoinjector to counter the effects of nerve agents and other toxic chemicals. The use of chemical and nerve agents in armed conflict is prohibited under the Chemical Weapons Convention, but history shows that not everyone adheres to the ban. British personnel therefore need to be protected from any potential attack, with the new injectors being issued over the next 12 months.
