Aegon & Helaena & Aemond & Daeron || Muddy Waters (AU)

𝐇𝐃 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐃. ❝But in the world we must defend our own.❞ I don’t say this lightly but I think this is one of the best videos I ever made. I have pretty much sacrificed the last 3 days of my life making this because once I had started I just couldn’t stop. Just as most of my HOTD Videos this is an AU but with this one especially I tried to stay as loyal to the show and the book as I could. The scenes I added I tried to support with evidence we got in the show but this still is only my interpretation. So if you disagree with my take that is fine. I just hope we can agree to disagree and keep the hate out of my comment section, thank you. Once I again I used Lucrezia as additional footage for Helaena. When I first had the idea of using her (5 Videos ago) I was really just thinking about that one quote and the love scenes but with every video I discover more scenes that just fit so perfectly! I read somewhere that in the book Helaena urged him to take the throne to protect their children and Aegon agrees so when I rewatched the Borgia scene where Lucrezia tells her husband basically the same thing I knew I just had to use it. I also could not stop myself from using basically every scene of Lucrezia and her son I could find and I am not sorry. I just needed to show the love she has for her kids and hint at the future tragedy. Please HBO I beg you to give us more mother Helaena content! On that note I want to point out that despite including a relationship between Helaena and Aemond in this (I am obsessed with them okay, I just had to put it into the video) I do not intent for this video to answer who the father of the children really is. I personally believe Aemond, for anyone interested, but for this video that doesn’t matter. Something that just kind of happened while I was scene hunting were the Helaegon scenes. I truly did not intend to give them romantic scenes and this might be the most canon breaking in this video because I pretty much miss used all of Aegons lines in the show to make story work. But IT FITS SO WELL and it might be my favourite part of the video. For me including this was a way of showing that their is a kind of love between them. He after all is her brother and therefore cares for him. Aegon meanwhile is so love and touch starved that I can imagine him trying to find love with his wife even if he doesn’t like her. But as shown in the video I don’t believe that despite best efforts they every really found that kind of love between them. Ngl editing this part inspired me to make another video dedicated to just them and explore my headcanons about their marriage in more detail 👀 Okay last thing about this video I have to say: Daeron.
