No title, paperwork reads - “All home by Christmas“. Pathe Gazette cameraman by special permission - obtains history making pictures of our army’s last days on the Rhine. Wiesbaden. Germany. L/S of troops marching and a band playing. M/S of them stood together, M/S of them at railway station, a man leans out of the window and talks to a woman. M/S as more march out of ’Givenchy Barracks’ with packs on their backs. M/S as they board the train. A soldier chats to a woman while everyone waves. M/S of them on the train. M/S of guard holding up signal, sign behind him says ’Konigstein.’ M/S as trains pulls away and they all wave. Various shots of soldiers queuing up to get on ships with their possessions. M/S of them on deck. M/S of ladies waving on the ship, many hold children. M/S of soldiers. M/S as boat sails along, the camera pans across soldiers on deck.
