Public Media Art “Waterfall-NYC“ by a’strict JUL. 2021 a’strict, a collaborative media artist unit formed by d’strict, showcased public media artworks titled ’Waterfall-NYC’(2021) in New York City’s Times Square in July 2021. ’Waterfall-NYC’ is installed on the exterior of One Times Square, using four vertical LED screens for a total height of 102.5 meters. The commanding cascade of water creates a compelling and overpowering presence amidst the city’s iconic red brick buildings and steel framed architecture. d’strict will continuously publish various sensuous art contents in the form of public media art. SPECIAL THANKS TO: Samsung Electronics & Jamestown -------------------------------------------------- 디스트릭트의 미디어아티스트 유닛 ’에이스트릭트’는 2021년 7월 뉴욕 타임스스퀘어에서 공공미술 작품 ’Waterfall-NYC’(2021)를 선보였습니다. ’Waterfall-NYC’는 원타임스스퀘어(One Times Square)의 외부 벽면에 위치한 총 4개의 스크린으로 구성된 높이 의 LED 스크린을 이용한 작업으로, 뉴욕에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 적벽돌 건물 및 철골 구조물 위로 시원한 물줄기를 쏟아내는 거대한 폭포를 통해 강렬하면서도 압도적인 분위기를 연출하는 작품입니다. 디스트릭트는 다양한 퍼블릭 미디어에 활용될 수 있는 감각적인 아트 콘텐츠를 지속적으로 선보일 예정입니다.
