Liverpool’s famous dock area is now home to a booming sport that has helped to transform the life of one previously shy young man.
Mikey Pinder, 31, from West Kirby, spent many years trying to overcome difficulties associated with autism. He found it hard to communicate and interact with others.
Out of curiosity he tried wake boarding at the Liverpool Wake Park in October 2013 a few months after it opened by the Queens Dock in the heart of the city, and he has never looked back.
