Turn Your Delay Pedal Into A Chorus Or Flanger – That Pedal Show

Don’t want to buy a chorus or flanger? Your delay might give you those sounds! Life too short for long YouTube videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below. Welcome to the show! We’re keeping it short and simple this week. Did you know that many (but not all) popular delay pedals can also give you chorus and flanger sounds? Well they can! What we’re demonstrating here are the core principles of chorus and flanger sounds. For sure, a dedicated chorus or flanger pedal will give you a more fully formed version of the effect with other parameter tweaks, not to mention many different variations of the effect. But if you don’t want to spend the cash, your humble delay pedal may be able to dial in some cool chorussy/flangey tones. You need a delay pedal that: a) Has modulation; and b) goes down below 50ms for chorus and below 5ms for flanging.
