Winter Jokes from Dr Jean

Yes, you can count these as using “instructional time” because you can integrate phonological awareness and double meanings of words. You might want to write one each day on the board and discuss it at morning meeting. It’s also good to tell these multiple times because it will take some of your kiddles a while to “get it.” Knock, knock! Who’s there? Rabbit. Rabbit who? Rabbit up carefully – it’s a present. Knock, knock! Who’s there? Donut. Donut who? Donut open until Christmas. Perhaps some will remember them to tell at home. What a great way to promote development of oral language skills.
