Future Homicide Suspect (Emma Bailey) Arrested for DUI in Pullman, WA
On March 21, 2023, 22-year-old Emma Bailey, a resident of Moscow, Idaho, was arrested for her alleged involvement in the overdose death of a University of Idaho student in Centralia. She has been charged with drug induced homicide. She had recently been arrested for a DUI in Pullman, Washington as well. Here is my summary from that incident as well:

On February 12, 2023 at approximately 1:56 AM, Deputy Randy Miller of the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office noticed a 2009 Corolla drive through a red light on NW Whitman Street at the intersection with N Grand Avenue. He proceeded to stop the vehicle. The driver, 22-year-old Emma Bailey, seemed incoherent when she was asked if she knew why she was being stopped. Emma initially denied consuming any alcohol, but later admitted to consuming some earlier. She told Deputy Miller that they were coming from The Emporium, a popular bar in the area. Emma also happened to be wearing a wristband for Timber, another local bar.
Based on the odor of alcohol and her admission to consuming alcohol, Deputy Miller afforded Emma an opportunity to perform voluntary field sobriety tests. He observed Emma’s eyes to be bloodshot and watery, while her speech was slurred. The first test involved the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN), where the Deputy observed the lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. During the Walk and Turn test, Emma was unable to walk a straight line. For the final One Leg Stand test, Emma was unable to maintain her balance and counted in an incorrect sequence.
Following the voluntary field sobriety tests, Emma was asked to voluntarily take a PBT test. The PBT reading was , which is over double the legal limit. Based on her admission to consuming alcohol, her inability to perform the field sobriety tests, and the PBT results, Deputy Miller placed Emma under arrest for driving under the influence. Emma was subsequently transported to the Pullman Police Department, where she chose to speak with an attorney and exercise her constitutional rights.
After Emma spoke with an attorney, Deputy Miller read the implied consent warnings to Emma, and she agreed to take a breathalyzer test. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC of %, more than double the legal limit. Following the breathalyzer test, Emma was transported to the Whitman County Jail in Colfax, Washington with a bail amount of $500. She was cited under RCW for Driving under the Influence (DUI).
