There’s also nothing like getting your own private compartment on a *two-hour* train on, it beats coach! I recently took the Amtrak “City of New Orleans“ from Champaign to Chicago. Originally booked in a $17 coach seat, I paid a little extra the night before my trip to reserve the Roomette. In total, this ticket was $84 one-way which is a steal. Compare this to last year when I rode the Superliner Roomette between the same cities, that ticket was $170!
