The Wagah/Attari Border Ceremony at the India-Pakistan border, which has occurred here since 1959, is the most unique and surreal changing of the guard/flag lowering ceremony in the world. Why? Because India and Pakistan are basically enemies and have fought three wars against each other since 1947 and even today, they are technically still at war over the disputed territory of Kashmir. What makes this ceremony even more unique is the festive pre-ceremony; I felt like I was at an American football game instead of being at a tense border ceremony.
