A cinematographic meditation about Drancy Avenir, now a Paris train station and during WWII a camp, where Benjamin’s theses on history and the fate of European Jews meet Welles’ The Merchant of Venice, Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte. A film that could be programmed with chapter 1A from Godard’s Histoire(s) du cinéma, where Welles’ unfinished Project and WWII are relevant features.
