The Hawkmen - Fujiyama Mama

On the penultimate night of their UK tour, The Hawkmen landed at Green Note on 19 March 2022. The band are Scarlett Fagan on lead vocals, Scott Milsom on double bass, Ben Hayes on guitar and hidden at the back of the stage like all the best drummers, Tim Hillsdon. This song was written in 1954 by Jack Hammer which was the pseudonym for Earl Solomon Burroughs. The most famous version is probably the one by Wanda Jackson which was a No 1 hit in Japan in 1958. They feature original songs written by the guys in the band but sounding as if they were written in the 1950s.
