The fighting has stopped in Yugoslavia between Yugoslav military and the breakaway Slovenian military. The Yugoslav army troops marched back to their barracks in the cease fire. The Yugoslav army si following the political line of the Yugoslav Communist party to perhaps allow Slovenia to leave and be independant It is not clear that all the Yugoslav politicians have accepted this idea. Michael Gorbachev says that the violence in Yugoslavia should serve as a warning for the Soviet Republics and how they should not break away for it would cause violence. Gorbechev met with German Chancellor Helmut Kohl to push the case that the Soviet Union needs financial help form the Western nations. This meeting took place in the Ukraine, in which there were demonstrations supporting independence from the Soviet Union.
