Food Minister Sees For Himself (1942)

Titles read: “FOOD MINISTER SEES FOR HIMSELF“. Somewhere in Britain. Various shots of Minister of Food Lord Woolton visiting an RAF station. He talks to the crew of a Wellington bomber and looks closely at the flying jacket of one of the men. Then “Britain’s Commander in Chief of the National Larder“ is shown a table carrying some of the home-grown produce the station is responsible for. He examines a large carrot (? or parsnip?), then is shown an enormous marrow by two pretty WAAFs. Lord Woolton is shown into the catering kitchens of the Royal Air Force station. He stirs some of the food on the serving counter and serves an airman to some dinner. Commentator says “If more women would come forward to do this essentially woman’s job, all services would be a lot happier“. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
