GAME RECAP: Penguins at Panthers () | Johnstone Makes NHL Debut

While the Penguins made a few lineup adjustments heading into tonight’s contest in Florida, one stood out: Marc Johnstone was making his NHL debut. Two-time Stanley Cup Champion Patric Hornqvist was honored at tonight’s game, and the former Penguins forward dropped the puck for a ceremonial faceoff, alongside his family. After the opening period saw no goals, it was a shot off the stick of Reilly Smith which got Pittsburgh on the board. Malkin dodged his defender and sent the puck to Smith, who buried it for his seventh tally of the season. Before the end of the middle frame, Ekman-Larsson would tie things up for the home team, sending things into the final period. Luostarinen gave Florida their first lead of the evening, and it was not a lead they would relinquish. Barkov scored into the empty net, making the final score 3-1 in favor of the Panthers.
