‘Unbelievable’ Australian Islamic council planned to provide a platform to the Taliban

Sky News host Paul Murray says it is “unbelievable” a peak Australian Muslim organisation was planning to provide an online platform to the Taliban. It comes as the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils cancelled an online forum, which was set to feature two senior Taliban representatives following public backlash. “It’s not just good enough that it was cancelled swiftly - good that it was - we need to ask questions about how this peak body ever thought it was acceptable to hold this event in the first place,” Sky News Reporter Caroline Marcus said.
