EU using Sun’s rays to disintegrate microplastic beads in water

A new EU-funded project will harness the Sun’s radiation to help rid the oceans of microplastics contamination. A system developed at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, for breaking down microplastics from personal care products is being tested for implementation in homes and wastewater treatment plants.
