Soviet October Revolution Parade, 1941 Парад 7 Ноября

This is the entire surviving footage of the legendary parade on Moscow’s Red Square devoted to the 24th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. When this parade took place, the Battle of Moscow was raging, the Nazi invaders were so close to Moscow they could see the red stars of the Kremlin towers in their binoculars. The Soviet Union held this parade in a defiant show of normalcy in the face of annihilation. The soldiers who marched past Red Square here were sent off to battle immediately afterwards.
