THIS VIDEO AND ALL ITS CONTENT IS MADE FOR INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The footage for this video comes mainly from the Amazon Prime series “ Hernan “ Jorge Reyes Valencia (September 24, 1952 – February 7, 2009) was a Mexican ambient electronic musician. Pioneer in this filed, Reyes incorporated pre-Hispanic instruments to his work such as the teponaztli [tepoˈnast͡ɬi] which is a type of slit drum, turtle shells, stones, rattles, ocarinas, trumpets, conch shells, wind whistles, funerary flutes, double flutes, and the tlapitzalli which is an aerophone. Jorge Reyes legacy started with Ek-Tunkúl (1983) his first solo album. The music from this video comes from the soundtrack of The Other Conquest (Spanish: La Otra Conquista) which is a 1999 Mexican historical drama film. Sacrificio is track number 5 composed and interpreted by Reyes. In case you know Spanish, on the link below you will find an interview with Ariane Pellicer, Mexican actress, screenwriter, producer, and wife/partner of Reyes during the last ten years of his life. On 09:32 Ariane mentions how Germans, Dutch, Mexicans, and people from the USA have uploaded Jorge Reyes music to Spotify claiming the music belong to them. On 16:16 Ariane mentions that The Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH, National Institute of Anthropology and History) has made an inventory of all Reyes instruments and that these instruments are genuinely pre-Hispanic. Tenochtitlan also know as México-Tenochtitlan was the capital city of the Aztec Empire and it was the largest city of all the pre-Columbian cultures in the American continent. The exact date of the founding of the city is unclear. The date March 13, 1325 was chosen in 1925 to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the city. The city was built on an island in what was then Lake Texcoco in the Valley of México. México City has been the capital city of the Aztec Empire, the Viceroyalty of New Spain, the capital of the first and the second Mexican Empires, now is the capital city of a Republic. Being a Mexican citizen myself. I simply want to create a visual timeline of my country so I can have a cleared understanding of its history. Do not take my assemblage/editing skill as being 100% historically accurate. I am a visual artist and I do not claim to be a historian. @beautiful_cosmic_soul #aztec #azteca #aztecas #mexico #méxico #mexicana #mexicanos #mexican #mexicanas #nahuatl #dance #danza #music #musica #video #history #historia #cdmx #mexicocity #tulsaartistfellowship #rafaelcorzo #teotihuacan #teotihuacán #cosmic #conciousness #soul ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @beautiful_cosmic_soul
