English 78 rpm records from 1932. His Master’s Voice, recorded 12 November 1932, London, Abbey Road Studio no. 3 Vladimir Horowitz (1903-1989), piano. - Liszt Sonata in B minor (h-moll) Transferred from the original 78 rpm record at 45 rpm with a standard USB turntable equipped with special needle (65µm). Postprocessing in Audacity: -inverse RIAA equalisation -speeding up to 78 rpm -DC correction -auto click removal (threshold 200, length 20) -mono conversion -declicking/decrackling with ClickRepair (Wavelet, 100%, 100%, all) -pitch correction -normalisation to -2 dB equalisation applied in Reaper: -Type Notch, Freq. 12000 Hz, Gain 0 dB, Bandwidth 0.4 oct -Type Low Shelf, Freq. 300 Hz, Gain 7 dB, Bandwidth 1.5 oct Audacity: -48 dB low pass filter above 12000 Hz Spatial enhancement (for unprocessed mono, please use left channel only): -prepare 3 copies of the monaural track (1, 2, 3) -1, 2, 3: normalise to -4 dB -2: switch to left channel -3: switch to right channel, add 10 ms silence to the beginning -2,3 join as stereo track -mix 1 (-3 dB) with (2,3) ( 3 dB) -adjust balance -normalise result to -0.1 dB
