Confusing? You are not supposed to fully understand what’s happening. At the beginning of the game Athena had no knowledge of her own latent abilities and just lived the ordinary live as per title hint. One of the girls that speaks you the most is Rika, Athena’s best friend in game. As you might have noticed, the game is heavily text and cinema display based.
