The story behind this is: Sonic, after defeating an enemy as Super Sonic, fell down to Earth and blacked out. Toothless found him just as he was waking up. They bond abit before Sonic gets an idea after watching him and how upset he looks. He asks Tails to make a new tail for him and once its put on Toothless and Sonic split ways. A few months later Sonic is once again battling someone. Shadow. He gets punched and is sent spiraling down into a lake. Toothless had seen him and dived down to save him. They thank each other and part ways once again as best friends.
