MS Earl Mountbatten speaking says: “That these three silver tankards are a gift from the Royal Navy to the Royal Air Force who manned the first three Valiant Squadrons. CU Mountbatten continues: “We are very proud in the Royal Navy to share with such distinguished Squadrons the name Valiant.“. Mountbatten goes on to mention the ship named Valiant which had been in big sea battles. Mentions the Duke of Edinburgh who was mentioned in despatches whilst serving on board the Valiant. Says he is sure the (MS) RAF (Royal Air Force) will uphold the name of Valiant should a third war occur. Goes on that he fervently hopes non of them
