In 1979, the east coast soulfunk band Opus 7 released their only album “Thoughts“ on Source Records. For reasons unknown, the album went nowhere making minimal impact. Which is a shame, as this obscure album contains some groovy disco-funk and incredibly smooth soul ballads. Side 1 features the upbeat dance tunes like “Bussle“, the lead single. Side 2 is where Opus 7 really shines though, with lushly arrangements and productions on songs like “No Need To Cry“ and “Hey Big Brother“. Highly recommended for fans of the Isley Brothers.
