RT Documentary presents Me and My Lions — a film about a Russian man who sold his Moscow apartment to save 8 lions from being euthanised. Later, two more lions ended up in his care — Aleksey got them as a gift. Having lions as pets has been his lifelong dream, and just when he thought it came true, he was faced with yet another challenge. Aleksey was born in Moscow in a family of chemists, but he was drawn to wild animals. So once he got a degree in biology from the Moscow State University, he went to where he knew he’d meet many lions — South Africa. He got a job at a lion farm in South Africa, where he had to feed adult lions and cubs and look after them.
