Voice of Lenin - “What Is Soviet Power“ Speech - 1919 Recording Restored

Rare recording of the voice of Vladimir Lenin. Recorded 1919. Rough translation: “What is Soviet power? What is the substance of this power which is not yet understood in most other nations? The substance, which is attracts all workers in all lands more and more strongly, is this: in the past the state was ruled by the rich, the capitalists, and now for the first time, the state is governed by those very classes the capitalists used to oppress. Even in the most free, most democratic republic, while capital is in power, while the land is privately owned, the state is always ruled by a a small minority of the rich. For the first time in history, in Russia only the workers, only the peasants who work, rule exclusively.“
