Drum Major Ian Esson has help leading Ballater & District Pipe Band through Braemar, Scotland, 2019

Drum Major Ian Esson has help as he leads Ballater & District Pipe Band on the march through Braemar in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This was after the 2019 Braemar Junior Highland Games and the band march right through the village from the Braemar Gathering and Highland Games Centre to the Invercauld Arms on the A93. The tunes they play include “Bonnie Lass o’ Fyvie“ and “The Rowan Tree“. Ballater & District Pipe Band was formed in 1993, with the forerunner being the Ballater Branch Air Training Corps Pipe Band of the 1950s and 1960s. These were funded and supported by Lady McRobert and in memory of this late patron, the band still wear Ancient Hunting Robertson.
