1951 Tony Fontaine - The Syncopated Clock

Tin Pan Alley lyricist Mitchell Parish is best-remembered for adding words to popular tunes originally marketed as instrumentals (Star Dust, Moonlight Serenade, Sophisticated Lady, etc.). Having previously serviced Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” and “Serenata,” Parish wrote these new lyrics for Anderson’s 1951 hit “The Syncopated Clock.” Both Tony Fontaine and Rosemary Clooney released versions. Transferred from the original 78rpm: Mercury 5607 - The Syncopated Clock (Parish-Anderson) by Tony Fontaine, orchestra and vocal group conducted by Lew Douglas . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The three* MusicProf channels are home to The HITS ARCHIVES, YouTube’s most comprehensive collection of U.S. ‘popular music’ recordings from 1925 thru 1975.
