Elon Musk & NASA FINALLY Reveals A Self-Sustaining Starship!

Elon Musk & NASA FINALLY Reveals A Self-Sustaining Starship! Will humanity achieve and survive interstellar travel? Is humanity ready for interstellar missions? Will a self-sustaining Starship answer this? Let’s find out in today’s episode! Hey folks! There had never been concrete proof of a planet discovered outside of our solar system prior to the discovery of the first exoplanets in 1992. Numerous exoplanets have been discovered thirty years after the first discovery. Moreover, a large number of these planets fall inside the “habitable zone,“ which denotes an area where liquid water and possibly life may exist. To get there, though, will require a courageous crew to depart from our solar system and an even more courageous intergenerational crew to be born into a mission that they could not have chosen by definition. Our solar system would probably never seem to them as anything more than a dazzling dot among a myriad of others. Since rocket engineer Robert Goddard first wrote about the concept of multiple generations of humans living and dying on the same spacecraft in his 1918 essay “The Last Migration,“ it is actually not a very new idea. When Goddard started developing rockets that could travel into space, he naturally thought of a craft that would keep going, onward, farther, and eventually reach a new star. The 100-Year Starship project, initiated by NASA and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) more recently, aims to develop the science and technology required for interstellar travel by the year 2100. Goddard was fascinated by the idea of a species departing from its home planet, but astronomers and sailors have harbored this hope since the dawn of time. Every child who looks up at the night sky imagines themselves flying across it. However, they typically wish to come back to Earth as well. It might be necessary for us to build a human-populated spaceship someday and set out on a multi-generational journey to a solar system from which we will never be able to return. The first, and possibly most obvious, of the many major challenges that such a vast endeavor would have to overcome is distance. The nearest star to Earth, known as Proxima Centauri, is light-years, or about 25 trillion miles, away, not counting the sun. On the cosmic scale, light-years may seem like a short distance, but getting there with present technology would take a while. The Parker solar probe, which NASA launched in 2018, has a top speed of 430,000 miles per hour, making it the fastest object ever created by mankind. However, it would take 6,617 years to reach Proxima Centauri even at this pace. In other words, it would take about 220 human generations to complete the journey. Moving more quickly is the only way to lower this number. This takes us to our second challenge: locating the energy required for survival and propulsion. We would need to improve our speed by burning more fuel or creating new spaceships with technology orders of magnitude better than what is now available in order to reduce the amount of time (and the number of generations) it would take to reach the new star. _ Join this channel to get access to perks: #elonmusk #starship #spacex #starshiplaunch #starshipupdate #spacexlaunch _ Hope you guys enjoy this! the 👉 If you enjoy this video, please like it and share it. 👉 Don’t forget to subscribe to this channel for more updates.
