Exploding Hammer Festival in San Juan de la Vega, Guanajuato, Mexico 2019

Check out my 2023 Exploding Hammer Festival Video on my other channel I just returned from a seven week trip to Mexico, the main reason for my trip was to check out the Exploding Hammer Festival in the small village of San Juan de la Vega. This was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen, the festival is held on Fat Tuesday in honor of the town’s saint, and for some reason they tape explosives to sledgehammers and have way too much fun. I lucked out and met a local photographer who knew some of the kids that were participating in the festival so we got to hang out with them all day and really get a behind the scenes look at this incredible celebration. Kids as young as 6 or 7 years old were doing it too, so insane, so of course I had to try it too!
