This piece of Apple wood came from my parent’s house in Ohio. It was an interesting combination of really hard fruit wood, but also had some pretty punky, spalted areas. Turning it was pretty straightforward and standard woodturning techniques worked fine. The only real trick was trying to decide what to do with the cracks. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Japanese art of Kintsugi and used gold epoxy resin. The color of the resin actually blended really well with the apple wood.
