Toronto Islands Photo Walk on Super 8 | Kodak 50D & 500T

On January 28th, 2023, a group of film photographers hopped on a ferry to explore the Toronto Islands. Six hours and over 12km of walking later, we returned to the mainland with tired legs, plenty of pictures, and happy hearts. Photography is about capturing memories, and I’m glad that I found a welcoming community of passionate and like-minded people to make memories with. Creativity comes from breaking out of your comfort zone, and what better way to do so than to be silly, let loose, and have fun with old and new friends on a dry but sunny January afternoon. Over 40 photographers attended the meetup, and I wish I got a chance to meet and capture everyone on super 8, but there is always the next photo walk to look forward to! Thank you, Jorge (@Jorshhh), for organizing the Toronto Analog Friends, a growing community of over 300 film photographers on Discord, as well as leading these monthly photo walks. Cheers! Until the next walk... Super 8 footage captured with my Braun Nizo 116 on Kodak Vision 50D and 500T. Film processed and scanned by Niagara Custom Lab. It’s not so bad being in front of the camera for a change. -Thanks, Angelo (@afspacebar), for climbing down under the pier and fearlessly venturing where others don’t (2:59 - 3:07). -Thanks, Nidhin (@darkroomreveries), for capturing my and Adam’s inner child on the swings (3:36 - 3:47), as well as for bringing the tarts! See the gallery of images that we took during the walk: Note and disclaimer: When I first heard this song, it seemed to encapsulate the feeling of finally finding a group of people you fit in and belong with. Even though I now know the darker story that this song refers to, I still think that it’s a great song by a great band. All music credits to Saint Motel. October photo walk on super 8: Me:
