“Bronte“ Gotye and The Barra-Westwind Band featuring Djalu Gurruwiwi

Gotye performed at WOMADelaide 2015 with the Barra-Westwind Band from North East Arnhem Land; “Barra“ is the Yolngu word for Westwind. Barra-Westwind are led by Larry Gurruwiwi, his father Djalu is leader of the Galpu Clan and custodian of the Djungarrinyu Yidaki (aka Didjeridoo). Together Gotye, Djalu and the band collaborated to reversion the song to feature the Yidaki (played by Vernon Gurruwiwi) and Yolngu lyrics for the vocals “We will be with you“.
