UN Security Council is set to arrange an emergency meeting Monday night after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognising the independence of the LPR and DPR regions. The meeting comes at the request of Ukraine, the United States, and six other countries. On Thursday, US President Joe Biden said military action could begin ’in the next several days,’ but stressed that a diplomatic solution was still possible.
