Sailing Seven Seas. Siberian Guys Circumnavigated the Globe in a Catamaran | RT Documentary

An expedition around the globe featured in the RT documentary “Sailing Seven Seas” matches the legendary sea crossings of the past – with one exception. No inflatable catamaran had ever circumnavigated the globe before the crew of four Siberian guys decided it was worth a try – and they did it! When asked about their unusual choice of vessel, the crew said they picked it because sailing it felt like flying. This team of Russian adventurers might look like your typical crew of bearded sailors, but they are engineers, scholars, and sporting enthusiasts in their land-based lives. Skipper Anatoly Kulik designed the tiny sail-powered catamaran with no roof or cargo hold and a windswept tent instead of a cabin. Evgeny Kovalevsky (or Jack) served as the team’s “foreign minister”, taking care of diplomacy with port authorities.
