This video is an introduction to the wonders of Antarctica, a white wilderness at the bottom of the world. It presents the geography and geologic history, the wildlife, the work of scientists today and the marvels of the Dry Valleys and the active volcano of Mt Erebus on Ross Island. The video is based on the book “Footprints on a Frozen Continent“ by John G. McPherson, published in 1975 and 1979 by Hicks Smith & Sons / Methuen.
