The Search for Home: Miami’s Cuban Jews (ISJL Virtual Vacation Episode 27)

In Miami, Cuban culture is everywhere—it influences everything from the food to the music to the atmosphere of the city. But what many people don’t know is that Miami is home to a community of Jewish Cubans, who commonly refer to themselves as “Jewbans.“ Featuring the voices, poetry, and music of members of this diverse and widespread community, this episode of the ISJL Virtual Vacation celebrates the many ways in which Cuban Jewish life has shaped the history of south Florida and beyond. This episode was produced and hosted by 2022 ISJL Public History Intern Clara Posner.
