Womankind - String Band / Robin Williamson (cover #2)

My second take on The Incredible String Band’s Womankind, written and sung by Robin Williamson on their first album. There was a tab of this in their first songbook with transcriptions by Happy Traum, when it was first published in the US. For some reason this song was removed when the book came out in the UK. My thanks to Jay Ansill, for sending me the tab from this book. I’ve worked it up quite a lot since a lot was just melody line and a few chord shape. I’m at last pretty happy with this arrangement. For those who are interested it’s in Open C minor (CGCGCEb) -- I was trying to work out Jack Rose’s Dusty Grass and Robin’s song dadnapped me again. The first and last verses are played slightly differently and the last line of each verse varies slightly. I’ve played both verse accompaniments as an introduction. The guitar is a Boucher Native Goose OM. Yes, this is the sort of stuff we used to listen to back in the 60’s and some of us still love it. My thanks to Ro
