lion time lapse carving one

This is me (Meg White) starting to carve a 40,000 lb. block of Indiana Limestone into a sculpture of an American Lion (an Ice Age mammal) which is a commission for the University of Alaska, Anchorage’s science building. This will go in their rock garden. I used a Bushnell trail camera to take the photos for the time lapse. I am using Bosch Angle Grinders - 10“ blade for making large cuts and 4 1/2“ blade for small cuts and shaping. I use a 4 lb. engineers hammer to knock off sections of cut stone.
