Virgin Mary Statue Untouched by Maui Wildfires | EWTN News Nightly

Late Thursday night, officials released the names of 388 people still missing on the island of Maui after devastating wildfires swept through the island 17 days ago. This comes after a separate list of more than 1,700 previously unaccounted for were deemed safe and well. The good news has been few and far between over the past 2 weeks in Hawaii, but there are stories of hope and redemption that continue to emerge. Jordan Segundo joins to tell us what it was like to return back to Hawaii and have to report on such a difficult story. Segundo posted on social media these incredible images of a Blessed Mother Mary statue still standing, practically unharmed, in the midst of a completely burned down neighborhood. He discusses what he was thinking when he saw that and how some of the locals reacted to it as well. Segundo shares what the reaction has been like on social media to his posts and what people are saying. Segundo had a very powerful conversation with a man who saw his Church burning down as a blessing in disguise. He fills us in on that interaction. ------------ EWTN News Nightly provides the latest news and analysis from a Catholic perspective.
