Israel’s blocking of GPS signals near the border with Lebanon could jeopardize aviation security, Politico writes, citing a University of Texas study. A team of scientists found that after the Hamas attack on Israel in early October, planes flying near the Mediterranean Sea briefly disappeared from view in many parts of the country. According to them, this is a sign of jamming and substitution of GPS signals. This practice, also known as spoofing, is a threat. Politico recalled that in September there was an incident with GPS distortion near Iran and Iraq. Then, due to a glitch, the plane almost entered Iranian airspace without permission. In addition, some aircraft experienced a complete failure of the navigation system. #source Источник: Slavyangrad
