The film describes how the accident investigation is conducted both on-site and off-site. It further describes how new safety measures are implemented after the incident to avoid similar incidents in the future. The film is produced in cooperation with the United States Department of the Interior Mining Enforcement and Safety Administration (MESA). An open pit mine (00:08). The investigation on-site is completed, and all technicians drive away (14:39). Company officials continue questioning other workers (14:54). Specialists take precise measurements of the premises (15:29). The safety director of the mining company is interviewed (15:50).
