Coming Soon: Tesla PMD 85-2A

The PMD 85-2A was an MHB8080A-based machine produced for a few years from 1985 in the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia. The MHB8080A is/was the Czechoslovak clone of the Intel 8080. This particular model was produced by Tesla Bratislava from 1987. Production of the machines apparently stopped after the Velvet Revolution of 1989, after which it couldn’t compete with Western machines (according to Wikipedia). It came with its PMD 10 power supply which outputs the usual ±5VDC and 12VDC that 8080-based machines require. Not a big deal if it wasn’t available - power input to the machine is a 5-pin DIN, so a replacement power supply could easily be created. It also comes with the BASIC ROM cartridge - apparently interchangeable with other language cartridges. Couldn’t get it off in the video - didn’t want to break it by incorrectly yanking-too-hard. Excellent Slovak page dedicated to the PMD 85: Wikipedia: Emulator - usually an easy source of additional ROMs: An imagined PMD 85-4 ... want:
