Russian Crude Oil, & LPG to Pakistan

Pakistan expressed interest in Russian hydrocarbons in 2022, however, the bilateral agreement was signed in April 2023. Consequently, first-ever Russian seaborne crude oil tanker reached Pakistan’s Karachi Port on June 11, 2023. Moreover, on June 12, 2023, Russian LPG also reached Pakistan through land: from Uzbekistan via Afghanistan to Torkham border into Pakistan. Russian LPG reached Uzbekistan through the freight train. The experts opined that the Russian crude oil is acquired at a discounted price which is helpful for the economy and industry of Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan paid the price in Chinese Yuan because of the shortage of dollar reserves with the State Bank of Pakistan. Russian hydrocarbons to Pakistan is a significant development in the Eurasian region.
