When to use GERUND (ing) and TO infinitive (to) 😎

This lesson will focus on something that is usually quite tricky for language learners, of any level. I’m talking about verb patterns, the fact that when 2 verbs appear together in a sentence the second one of them normally suffers a transformation. Today we will practise using verbs followed by GERUND and verbs followed by To-INFINITIVE. These verb patterns will be divided, explained and practised in three main group: 00:00 Introduction 02:58 1) Some verbs are followed only by gerund (ing), some verbs are followed only by to-infinitive. 05:15 2) Some verbs can be followed either by gerund or infinitive without any change in meaning. 08:14 3) Some verbs can be followed by either gerund or infinitive with big changes in meaning. Watch our lesson, clear up your doubts, test yourself completing the sentences that we’ve prepared for you with the right verb pattern and, the most important thing, practise and practise as much as possible in your everyday conversation.
