From the album “An Awesome Wave.“ Footage is from the beautiful 1988 film “Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation.“ Gerda Taro was a war photojournalist who died trying to photograph front-line action in the Spanish Civil War. Robert Capa was her romantic interest. He shared the same profession as her, and died after stepping on a landmine during the First Indochina War.
